happy songs

**side note: I’ve realized that creating and posting on the same day is… well it’s hard! so now everything will be a day behind (meaning something will be made and then posted the next day) so there will still be something each day, it will just be delayed so the last post will be on the 1st of April. OK.. now that we got that all cleared up, let us continue**

I went through this teen phase where I was really into sad music; music that made you think a little deeper. and its not like those songs are bad by any stretch, I think that we all need some thinking music sometimes, but now-a-days I find myself looking for those get up and dance songs that put you on the right side of life. so here is a list of songs I’ve been vibe-ing with lately.

(side note on the word ‘vibe’: I’ve realized that whenever you say vibe it really takes away the seriousness of something, like “I hate her” sounds so harsh, while “me and her just don’t vibe” just sounds so much better but really means the same thing)

Nancy Mulligan – Ed Sheeran

  • pretty sure its not secret how much I love ed. this song is really different from any new ‘pop’ songs on the radio right now and I think I love it because it kinda feels like home with the Irish/scottish music feels

Barcelona – Ed Sheeran

  • this song is again, something different (especially for him) because it has what I can only describe as ‘island vibes’ to it. good for dancing in the kitchen. plus I totally have a music video idea so ed, hit me up.

Restless Heart – Matt Hires

Atlantic City – The Band

Keep Your Head Up – Andy Grammer

  • I’ve been able to see Andy in concert and his energy is crazy. love this song for its message

Shower – Becky G

I Really Like You -Carly Rae Jepsen

  • the music video for this is HILARIOUS so check that out too. pretty sure when this first came out it is all me and my friends listened to

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall – Coldplaybirds-coldaply

Birds – Coldplay

2 Heads – Coleman Hell

Your Man – Down With Webster

  • literally have heard nothing else from this band but for some reason this song holds a special place in my heart

Still Falling For You – Ellie Golding

  • I listened to this almost everyday on my way to school in Brighton and it still gets me a little tear-y thinking about it.

High and Low – Empire of the Sun

I Don’t Like It I Love It – Flo Rida

  • this is a typical pop song but you should watch Nick Carter dancing to it on dancing with the stars, it makes it that much better

Dog Days Are Over – Florence + The Machine

No Money – Galantis

  • another song I found in Brighton.

Best I Ever Had – Gavin DeGraw

Hold My Hand – Jess Glynne

Waste A Moment – Kings of Leon

I Want You to Want Me – Letters to Cleo

Hey Now – The Cataracs & Martin Solveig

Daylight – Matt + Kim

  • a classic get up song

Elle Me Dit – Mika

  • even if you don’t understand the word you will love this

Popular Song – Mika

  • this song is WICKED

Hey Ya – Outkast

  • classic

My Type – Saint Motel

All The Way – Timeflies

  • pretty sure every sorority played this during rush week, but I still love it

What You Know – Two Door Cinema Club

  • me and my friend Charles were obsessed with this band in middle school and listening to their older albums still makes me feel like I’m back in middle school

Perm – Bruno Mars

  • Emily introduced me to this song and it is just FUN

London – Maty Noyes

  • obvious reasons for this song. also love the kind of latin(?) vibes it gives. I can see this as a Zumba routine.

Diggy – Spencer Ludwig

I made all these songs into a Spotify playlist if you wanna take a listen! (you need flash to open this link so use google chrome or something other than safari 🙂 )
