the best tool // back to school

its that time of year again where everyone is going back to school. i came home from work the other night and my sister couldn’t wait to show me her school supply haul.

ever since i bought my ipad pro i no longer have to go buy school supplies. BUT before buying it i did SO much research

today i wanted to tell you about my ipad pro and why i think it is the best tool for any college student.

1. note taking

probably the most beneficial part of the ipad pro is the ease of taking notes. by having everything on the ipad i never have to worry about loosing notes or forgetting a notebook because everything is in the same place.

on top of having everything is one place it also gives you the ability to draw in your notes. this was extremely helpful for me while i was in an anatomy course because my professor was constantly showing us pictures of cells. i could be writing or typing notes and then if I needed to draw something i easily could.

2.  apps

obviously if you have an ipad, you’re going to use apps. for note taking my favorite app is notability and I recommend any college student use it to keep track of everything! i love using this app because i can write on PDF notes my professors have given me, insert pictures, draw my own pictures all while taking notes (written or typed).

when I was a nutrition student I know the iPad would have been useful for apps that taught and showed anatomy and any notecard apps. now as a design student i love using apps like procreate to brainstorm with team members or to make rough drafts of projects i may photoshop later.

3. electronic distribution

if your college experience has been anything like mine you’ll realize that everything is either moving online or already is online. a lot of the times our worksheets were online or assignments needed to be turned in online. the ipad was great for this because you can fill out the online worksheet on the ipad then turn it in and never have to mess with scanning anything. this was also useful when working in teams because I could email team members the sheet of what we had worked on that day instead of everyone taking a picture.

4. books

next we need to talk about the biggest expense when it comes to school supplies: books. i use the kindle app on my iPad to rent digital copies of my book from amazon. it feels weird at first to not be physically be flipping through a book, but the search option on the book makes it much easier to find what you are looking for. (bonus: usually online books are cheaper than the real copy)

5. easy to carry + versatile

finally, the iPad can be a replacement for a bulky laptop. although in my degree there is no way i could forgo my laptop for an iPad but for a lot of degree fields it is an option. whether you are sitting in class taking notes or watching Netflix in bed, the iPad can do both!

although i still recommend carrying paper and pencils for when you need them, i think that the ipad pro is the best tool for a college student in any major! if you have any questions about the ipad pro in relation to school leave a comment on this post!

micro haul // ootd

well my friends, it’s that time again. the time of the year where i feel obligated to buy new things because school is starting. i picked up a few deals on my latest shopping outing and wanted to share them with you all!

first thing is this super cute top from Levi’s. it was only 6$ at the outlet and i am very into shirts with little embellishments like this one.

again from the Levi’s outlet was this green and blue striped shirt. it kind of makes me feel like a 7 year old boy on the first day of school but i kind of love it.

next i bought this cute shirt from uniqlo online. i feel like the higher neck shirts look good with my short hair so i’m all about this (plus it’s really nice and thick material). it was only $6 when I bought it but now it is on for $4 so if you like high neck t-shirts, go check it out! (i also got it in yellow which was in the wash so it didn’t get a picture.. but i like that color too!)

next, i hit up the vans outlet and got a pair of charcoal grey slip-ons. this is my first real pair on slip-ons, and it may be early to say, but they’re probably my favorite sneaker I’ve owned! they’re so freaking comfortable and i now understand why everyone is so in love.

at this particular vans store there was a deal where if you bought a full price pair of shoes you got a sale pair for 50% off! so i also picked up these light dusty pink suede lace up shoes. i’ve never seen shoes like this from vans and unless you knew where i got them, you probably wouldn’t know they were vans at all.

that is everything i bought this past weekend! have you bought anything for “back to school”?

this is weirdd // no.5

it’s more than half way through july and i still have yet to do my this is weirdd for this month. normally i do this series on my youtube channel but i’ve really been feeling this blogging thing recently so let’s just go with it!

if you haven’t seen one of my videos before, weirdd is an acronym that stands for what i’m watching, what i’m eating, what i’m interested in, what i’m reaching for, what i’m downloading and what i am doing.

recently i have been watching a bunch of TV which is very odd for me. so odd infact that i wrote a whole post about it! on top of that i have been watching fleur de force who just announced she’s expecting a baby!Untitled-1

my eating patterns have basically been the same all summer long. i’m eating a lot of pasta lean cuisines, franks redhot (on everything) and recently i’ve started eating honey bunches of oats cereal!

i’ve really been interested in business type things this month. i’m not exactly sure how to explain this but i’ve more recently thought about starting a company or starting something and i feel like i have many ideas and no where to put them! (weirdly i was really inspired by this video)

this past month i have found myself reaching for my brown baby wedges from payless. they’re perfect for work and very comfortable!

again this month i’ve been into listening to podcasts and my new fav is off the vine with kaitlyn bristowe. I love the bachelor/bachelorette franchise and she has to be one of the best to come out of it.

what have i been doing? well this past month i went to laguna with my friend tori to visit my friend jeff (psst… i wrote this post about it that you should read). i’ve also been working a lot at my two jobs which has been keeping me busy, but i’m not complaining! on top of that i have been researching the possibility of purchasing a new camera (!) so that may be a new change in my life.

that is what is weirdd with me this month; leave me a comment on any of my social medias letting me know what is weirdd with you!

what i’m watching

hello everyone! how are you doing? what have you been up to? i’ve been watching (what feels like) a TON of tv recently.

when i was a pre-teen i was never much into television; you could always find me sat in front of the computer engrossed in a youtube video. not much has changed now in my older years and my subscription box will always take precedence over tv. now that i work in the influencer marketing space i tend to spend more time (and time at work) looking at youtube/twitter/instagram so when i’m home i need something else to do. so… here is what i have been watching:

1.The Crown

this is an *extremely* new watch for me. i tend to not be able to watch shows that require much thought (as you will see from the remainder of this list), but i started this show with my sister one night and she has forced me to remain hooked! if you’ve never heard of the series it is essentially a dramatized version of queen elizabeth the second’s life starting right before her father passes away.

the first episode my sister and i were googling like crazy trying to figure out different references, but now by the third and fourth episode we have a better understanding of the british monarch. if you’re into dramatic history then for sure check out this show! the production quality is amazing and the acting is impeccable, and surprisingly a lot of the major events are accurate (at least from what we have googled).

2. Friends

friends. a classic. i am so far behind, i know, but i absolutely love watching friends at night before i go to bed. it is the perfect piece of fluff television and it has a million seasons on netflix so it feels like you will never run out of entertainment!

3. The Bold Type

this is a very new addition to my stash of shows but i was too impressed not to include it. the bold type is a brand new show on freeform (previously abc family) and follows three friends at a cosmo type magazine. this show feeds my devil wears prada needs while having a more humorous spin. the first two episodes impressed me and i cannot wait for the rest of the season!

4. Pretty Little Liars

next is my precious pll. pretty little liars has come to a close in the last month and i couldn’t write this post without mentioning it. this was the only show i have religiously followed through its entire life and even though it seemed like they were stretching it in the last few seasons, im really sad its over.

i don’t think this is a show i would recommend to watch on netflix just because it is so long and repetitive but if you’ve been with it from the start you know my heartache over it finally ending.

what shows are you watching??

i’m really excited to see life sentence with lucy hale and i want to get into more shows so tweet me or comment on my instagram what shows you’re into!
